Dialogue is Good

I can't say that I've ever watched a full episode of Gilmore Girls before, but tonight I got sucked in by the best script I've heard from a dialogue-driven comic drama (dramedy?) since Ed a few years back. Not only is the writing good, but the actors breeze through it in a quick-paced style of banter which makes the humor subtle and not too "jokey". Though not the funniest line I heard in the episode, this hangover-induced conversation between the female leads particularly caught my attention:

You're slurping.

And that's SO bad?

When it's the same volume as Louis Armstrong playing a high C, yes.

I'll put a mute on it.
