Or in a spaceship, perhaps (our tour bus has a spaceship painted on the side... don't ask). Today is our only day this week without a show, and we're traveling from Bridgeport, CT to Hagerstown, MD. It was supposed to be a six hour trip (including breaks), but we're at eight hours now and still rolling (yes, I'm posting this from the bus... the wonders of technology).
Our lead trumpet player (who sits in front of me) has a GPS unit attached to his laptop, and it's pretty funny to watch the icon for our bus go the opposite direction from the proper course. What's less funny (and amazing) is that this happens almost every day. Ironically, the people who are navigating at the front of the bus do not have a GPS unit and often don't take well to suggestions from the back....
